The 3M™ Medium Thermoplastic Elastomer 6000 Series Half Mask Air Purifying Respirator With Two 3M™ 2091 P100 Particulate Filters is an important piece of equipment for the welder or someone who works around asbestos or lead and values their lungs.  Here's what it does:

 

When properly fitted to a worker, it can be used in a variety of applications including welding, brazing, torch cutting, metal pouring, soldering, and exposure to lead, asbestos, cadmium, arsenic, and MDA for concentrations up to 10 times the Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL).   This is important to know because the dangers that these materials can cause to the human body are not reversible.

There is no good concentration of asbestos or arsenic to work around, but when you have to work near the chemicals above or welding, it's a great idea to protect your lungs or those of the people who work for you.
